Sleep Timer doesn't stop playback.

Much of the time now, possibly only since the Pie (9) update, the Sleep Timer plays through an entire 90-minute podcast, even though it is set to 15 minutes. The full-screen player shows the 15:00 countdown at the top left, but the entire recording plays without stopping.

Possibly related, playback seems to stop after about 15 minutes when the Sleep Timer has been explicitly set to NONE. This might be a separate issue -- I have enabled the Marshmallow Media Player option, but only yesterday, so I have no results on that yet. However, the Sleep Timer still played through last night, without stopping after 15 minutes.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I'm missing a lot of material (and probably messing with my sleep).

Thanks,
Allen

See the "Audio playback

See the "Audio playback problems" post under "Playback Issues" - http://www.doggcatcher.com/AudioPlaybackProblems and switch to Google’s Android experimental media player for 6.0+/7.0+/8.0 and up devices

This may resolve the problem you're experiencing.....also you should also try restarting the app (DC Navigation Menu>More>Exit)

If you experience other issues with the app after upgrading the OS on your device - see forum FAQ post "Issues with app after upgrading to a new version of Android" http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6977

I've tried everything I can

I've tried everything I can find, including the "experimental Marshmallow" player, and the sleep timer still plays all the way through, and the player still stops after the Sleep Interval when the timer is turned off.

It's almost as if the sleep timer is working backwards. When I enable it for 15 minutes, it shows that it's set, and it counts down while playing, but doesn't stop at 0. But later, when it's off and the display shows it's not running, playback stops after 15 minutes. Could there be a flag that's set when it should be reset, and vice versa?

And if so, how to resolve? I reboot every 48 hours automatically. I could delete the app and reinstall from scratch, but I'd hate to lose my long list of podcasts.

Thanks,
Allen

I haven't been able to

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem with the sleep timer feature you're experiencing, I'm thinking the only other option to resolve this issue, is to uninstall/reinstall the app..after you backup first (DC Navigation Menu>Settings>Backup/Restore/Export)

Run Backup
Uninstall
Reinstall
Run Restore

I've tried that, and it did

I've tried that, and it did stop playback after the set time. Then with timer OFF, it continued to play past the previous set time, which is also correct.
I'll let you know if weirdness returns, but it appears to be fixed. Thanks for providing the backup/restore function!
