I've been using Doggcatcher for years and have been generally quite happy
Yesterday I noticed an odd behavior. Checking for downloads would start and then keep looping in the notification on the last feed although the app said it was done.
I did get a new Galaxy s10e recently but it had been working fine. This seems to be coincidental with a problem with the feed for Bloomberg Surveillance which now shows an error. When I dig deeper the app thinks there is no content although the underlying xml shows data
I tried backing up, wiping the data and restoring and the issue persists. I also used the "report a problem" button in the app but nothing appears to be being sent.
Not sure if this affects others but I do suspect that this faulty feed may be at the root of the issue.
See forum FAQ post "Issues with app after upgrading to a new version of Android" http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6977
I've forwarded the notification issue to DC's developer, in the meantime if you wish..disable all the app's notification features in the device settings, unfortunately this will disable notification & lockscreen controls features too
Device Settings>Apps>All Apps>DoggCatcher) press "App notifications>toggle "On" to "Off"
Thanks WayneC. I'll check the article and go through the settings.
I think it may be related to the Bloomberg feed which won't update. I suspect that they freely interpreted the standards. It all worked fine until that feed went bork!

I couldn't verify the URL https://feeds.bloomberg.fm/BLM2561581769 , what is the actual name of the feed
Bloomberg Surveillance
I can't get the feed to work with the app (DC), it's the correct URL........I would recommend contacting the publisher and let them know about the problem at
flevy6 (AT) bloomberg (DOT) net

Thanks - yes I reached out to them as well. I suspect some bright light decided to "fix" their feed.
Appreciate the follow-up. Have a great day!
