Hello,
I am a long time Doggcatcher user. I have successfully migrated to a few devices and also successfully reset various devices with no issues. However, I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 9. On my previous phone the backup was stored in the emulated removable storage folder. It appears that is where the app wants my restore placed on my new phone. I cannot seem to find that folder anywhere. Can you help me restore my podcasts and settings to my new device?
Thanks!
FAQ post "Why am I experiencing external storage (SD Cards) problems after my device has been upgraded to Marshmallow (Android 6.0)?" - http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6493
Enable device permissions for storage access and point the app to the external storage directory "/storage/6562-6463/Android/data" or similar directory designation for your Samsung device...if you're using an SD card..though if you want to use the internal storage, running restore & then pointing the app to the default emulated/0 shouldn't be a problem
I'm sorry, after reading my post I don't think I was clear.
I do not have external storage at all. I have 512GB of internal storage and doubt I will add an SD card at all.
My problem was that Doggcatcher says it is using "/storage/emulated/0/DoggCatcher/Backups/" as my backup (and thus, my restore) location. It also says it is using "/storage/emulated/0" as the storage location. I easily found this on my previous devices, however both using Windows File Explorer when connected to my PC or when using two different file explorers on the phone, I couldn't find that folder. However, since I posted this I discovered that the root folder that the file explorer is showing me internally actually is "storage/emulated/0" so I was kind of being dumb there. I restored my backup and all seems to be working fine.
