I subscribed to a new podcast and it loaded into my list. It initially loaded about 8 episodes. So, I clicked on add more - it loaded additional episodes. I know this particular podcasts has probably 300 episodes. I continued and clicked on add more again, this time the previous "newly added episodes" disappeared and now only the original episodes that were listed are available. I cannot get the program to add more than 8 episodes - it gives the default response "All of the episodes provided by the publisher are displayed." Is there a setting that is preventing additional episodes to load?
I also contacted the pubishler and they suggested I contact Doggcatcher to see what is happening on the Publisher's end that can be changed.
Is there something the publisher can do to fix or amend this issue?
FYI - I do not have the "hide after playing" feature on.

Jake Robinson
First try .....the Feed Diagnostics Feature http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6457 to see if this resolves the problem
Next .....you may have accidentally pressed the "hide done episodes" setting (2nd Icon Top right of the episode screen) of any feed/podcast on the feeds tab.
The "Hide episodes that are done" feature can also be enabled & disabled from DC's "User Interface" preferences (DC Navigation Menu>Settings)
Then change the number of episodes setting of the particular feed>press the feed settings icon (1st Icon Top right of the episode screen) scroll down to "Number of episodes/articles"> disable "Global" and enter a higher number in the field (example 100) press OK (FYI this can cause memory issues on some of the lower memory devices)
I did check both the number of episodes and whether 'Hide" option was used. I ran diagnostics but there were no errors listed. Guess I'll submit through the app. Could it be the podcaster has a limit on how many of their episodes would be available to fetch through their feed? If so, what would/could they do to mitigate this?
also, is there a setting for this forum to notify by email when a reply is made? I forgot a few days and had to click on each page and do a search on my name before I found your reply. cheers!
Thanks,
Jake
1. Could it be the podcaster has a limit on how many of their episodes would be available to fetch
Yes (See Posted Thread "Dan Carlin's Hardcore History" http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/5673
and "This American Life" http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/5798 )
2. Is there a setting for this forum to notify by email when a reply is made?
Make sure the "Send subscriptions notifications" is enabled above the "Subject" field
No errors on diagnostic. I tried to 'report a problem' but each time I get an error - "DG had to close" - so something it causing DG to crash. I am running it on a Google Pixel XL. I did uninstall and reinstall and still crashes. One change - when I reinstalled the podcast I am having issues with was not in the list. So I searched and subscribed again. However, I still only get 10 shows. I made sure they are unhidden and the "number of shows" is set to 100.
Is it possible the podcast producer has a limit on how many they allow to serve through their feed? I have sent a message to them and they are running it by their IT folks.
All of their episodes are on iTunes - is there a way to create a custom feed to download straight from iTunes?
Cheers,
Jake
I don't see a box to subscribe to notifications. I took a screen shot so you could see for yourself, but don't see how to attach or insert an image.
