I would like to be able to fast forward via the widget. Can we get a few option to configure the widget? I don't think I have once ever needed to skip through to the next podcast via my widget. But I can count the number of times I have wanted to skip through some of the more boring points of a tech podcast or something similar. Or better yet when I accidentally hit the "next" button and then had to find where I was in the podcast.
That's a good idea. I had an existing issue for something similar. I changed it to reflect what you are talking about.

Thanks for posting.
Any update on this, I would love to be able to FF with the widget. I never skip while listening to a podcast. An option to configure the widget would be awesome. Thanks.
It was scheduled a bit to far into the future, but I just moved it up to two after next...can't make any guarantees about the exact release, however I agree that it's pretty overdue.
Thanks for the feedback.
I just want to put my 2 cents in on this. On rare occasion, I'll accidentally hit the skip button on the widget when I meant to hit pause. This causes the podcast I was listening to to be marked as 'done' and thus deleted.. so I have to go through the steps of looking up the feed, marking the entry as new, redownloading, then finding my place in it. It's a bit infuriating when it happens, so I'd love the option to at the very least disable skipping from the widget. Thanks for everything!
This would be a nice addition. I FF (15 seconds) through lots of commercials and found if I click FF too quickly, I don't FF 30 seconds, but instead click to the end of a podcast. Like the previous poster said, I then have to do a 5 step recovery to redownload and find my original spot in the podcast I was listening to. I almost need an 'undo' button to reverse *my* mistakes (or perhaps I should just click FF a little slower).
Got it. It sounds like just making the right widget button configurable in what it does (next, ff, rew), or the ability to make it not do anything would work...maybe another configurable button would help too.
Another vote for a more configurable widget. I too would like to replace the skip button to a ff button. I would really like to change the background color of the widget, especially a transparent option to give it a cleaner look. Thanks.
I skip podcasts I want to listen to WAY too often.
Tangentially: what is the easiest way to "undo" this action? Is it really EQSenretsu's method?
There isn't a way to undo that other than digging through the feeds to find it...sounds like a strong argument for a configurable widget :-)
I just moved this up in the schedule some.

Did this feature ever get implemented? I didn't see it in the settings. I am having the same problem with accidentally tapping the next button on the widget and ending a podcast.
That feature was enabled on version 1.2.3267 - Released 2012-03-30 - http://mantis.doggcatcher.com/view_all_bug_page.php?filter=1108
The current version of Android, the lockscreen and notification player controls are by default minimized and only displays play/pause and skip buttons.....you have to swipe down to display RW/FF buttons - currently Android doesn't have away to change the default setting that I'm aware of.
WayneC,
Thanks for your response. Can you tell me how to change the behavior of the "Next" button on the widget? In the settings, I only see the next button listed for the headset/lockscreen, not the widget.
Thanks.
The headset/lockscreen and widget uses the same setting, I'll let Eric know it's no longer possible to configure the widget buttons with the headset settings
