I attempted to use the cloud sync today, but found that it did not sync which feeds I actually have. It seems to sync only which podcasts are done and which are new, but the list of which feeds are being downloaded is not being synced using the cloud sync. Is this how it is meant to operate?
Episodes are usually synced after downloads are complete, but if you're still experiencing a problem....check the FAQ post: How can I figure out why Cloud sync is not working? http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/5679 - follow the recommendations, then a send log from each device (In the DC Menu>Report Problem) right after media files fail to sync.
The issue is not that episodes aren't being sync, its that the list of feeds isn't being synced. For example, I recently subscribed to the RSS feed Dice Tower Showdown and deleted the feed TWIT. I expected that on my second device, it would add the Showdown feed and remove the TWIT feed, but it did not. Was it supposed to?
Episodes/feeds should sync right after a feed update & episodes are deleted/downloaded, send a log right after you experience a problem you're describing from each device. Eric will check it out
Can you slide out the navigation drawer from the left and take a look at the bottom. If there's a problem syncing, it will be displayed there. E.g., if one of your feed failed to update, a sync won't happen.
Any way this can eventually dump the sync key all together and just have it tied to our google account. Right now it seems that if you don't have that sync code written someplace you will still lose everything if your phone craps out. It would make more sense to just authenticate your google account and sync back up against that. Nothing extra to to keep track of.
While I appreciate the offer of a refund, I think it would be wildly inappropriate for me to ask for one. The app works just fine. My issue is not having access to GooglePlay for the beta. I simply need my podcasts to sync across 2 devices and it's not your fault that they can't. While I'm disappointed that I have to move on to a different app, I'm going to keep DC just in case the cloud sync ever does go public. Personally I prefer your app over the one I'm forced to use, but C'est la vie. Thanks.
Its been awhile since any new users were added to the beta cloud sync. Any update on this yet? or can I get in?
thanks.

Is there a way for me to use the cloud sync? I bought the app for my Kindle Fire HDX and joined the beta group.
Btw, my app version asks to unlock experimental features and says case sensitive. I'm guessing this is the key everyone is asking for?
Sorry the Cloud Sync feature can only be accessed on the beta version of DC and is currently only available from Google's Play store
So why does both my versions have a section under settings labeled "Unlock Experimental Features" that asks for a case sensitive key?
All versions of DC has the "Experimental Features" section, but the feature can only be unlocked on the beta version of the app
Bummer, guess I just wasted that money. On to the next podcast app then.
I'd be happy to issue a refund if the app isn't working out.
Or you can join the beta - www.doggcatcher.com/beta
