Podcasts from this feed: http://feeds.nos.nl/nosradio1journaal-nieuwsoverzicht download fine, but will not play. They play fine on my pc. I think the format is plain mp3. Any idea what may cause this?
PS: your CAPTCHA sucks..

You're using a free app. No need to be rude to the developers. A "please" and "thank you" wouldn't hurt either. I tested the feed and the "player doesn't support this type of audio file". Looks like an MP3 file. Strange...
Yeah, I'm sorry if seemed rude, it wasn't meant that way. I meant that the developers should use another captcha (like http://recaptcha.net/) I typed it after not getting the captcha right 4 times and when I got a warning about the captcha being wrong, a new one wouldn't show. For the record, I'm also a free (as in beer) software developer and I was waiting with the praise until I actually could (positively) test the app...
ukchris, Thanks for testing out the audio file.
aVirulence, I know the captchas are a pain. I really didn't want to do it but it was either captcha or every comment being approved by a human.
I did look at re-captcha, but I was able to get the one that I'm using now in place fairly quickly. I thought it would be best to shift back to putting energy into DoggCatcher.
If it's really problematic I can give recaptcha a shot. Were you having problems with case sensitivity? If so, I can easily switch the current captcha to all upper or all lower. I think that's where most the mistakes I have made were.
The feedback we get here on the site has really contributed to the features and the quality of DoggCatcher, so I don't want to discourage posting because of a lame captcha...we'll do what we can to ease the pain.
Thanks for your reply. I guess the problem was with the case sensitivity.
This should decrease the hassle.
aVirulence, no worries. I thought you were a troll :) Have you developed software for android?
I am also having problems with captcha. Hopefully there'll be something better before long.
Nah, I'm not very good with Java. I use Python myself. I'm developing a Linux Usenet downloader: (http://www.lottanzb.org).
Hopefully Android will support Python soon. There are some efforts going on to add Python support, but those are unofficial. Of course that doesn't mean they're not good, but they're just not there yet.
