Right now, if I click the pause button in the notification bar, playback stops and the notification bar entry is removed. In order to unpause, I have to go into the app itself.
Why not have separate pause and stop options? Both options would stop playback, but only the stop option would make the remove notification bar entry.
That could work. I might end up doing it like google music...the notification only remains when you press pause on the notification. If you pause any other way, the notification disappears.
One of the things that bothers me with some music apps is that they only display the notification when the app isn't in the foreground. When you lock the screen with the app up, the notification doesn't show up when you turn the screen back on and don't unlock it. I like to use the notification bar at the lockscreen to pause music. Spotify and Google Music do this now and it drives me nutty. DoggCatcher doesn't do this right now (and is correct in my mind) so please don't change it.
I do like that pausing experience you described though.
Came here to add my vote to adding a pause & stop button on the notification bar. If paused is pressed the notification remains to un-pause later.
I often listen to podcasts while in other apps but need to pause/play when people talk to me. Kind of a pain to go leave my current app, re-open DC just to play again. Over and over.
Dr. Ransom beat me to requesting this feature.

Thanks for the feedback.
