Replacement for Presto now available

Hi Everybody,

I got fed up with Presto variable speed library crashing all the time, so I wrote a replacement, and called it "Stable Speed".

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stuntbyte.stablespeed

Works for me. Maybe it will work for you too.

Cheers

I have temporarily disabled

I have temporarily disabled the download while I investigate an issue with early customers.

... and we're back. Stable

... and we're back, nearly. Stable Speed will be available again, just as soon as Google flip the appropriate switches.

Cyanogenmod 10.1 users now get sound too, and error capture and reporting has been further improved -- not that *I* see any errors during my daily use of it!

Let me tell how glad I am to

Let me tell how glad I am to see you spin up this project. It's great to give people a choice (clever way to do the drop-in). If android dev is new to you, welcome.

Of course, we'll have a link in the app to the what the user's decide is the best choice.

Everyone should feel free to post here with any problems so they can get resolved.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome. It is indeed my first Android project, but I've been writing code for a very long time, so you needn't be too worried :-)

This would be a great place to report any problems.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the vote

Thanks for the vote Marcus!

I've pushed up a new version that fixes a problem with loss of a few seconds from the end of podcasts, and a rare bug that occurred during podcast transitions.

My testing process now includes hitting as many controls as quickly as possible, trying to find race conditions. The latest version fixes a problem that occurred if you hammered pause/play as one podcast ends and another begins... so you can do that now, if you want to :-)

It's certainly not *easy* to crash, but I'm working hard to find ways!

Frojo support!

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to let you all know that I've pushed out a new version with support for older devices running Froyo and above.

If you have an older device, and only need MP3 support, and if streaming isn't important to you, give it a go.

Cheers
Kerry

Great stuff. I love being

Great stuff. I love being able to override the playback speed with more fine control. DoggCatcher doesn't currently offer enough flexibility in setting the speed.
